The Arlington Association is a private country club serving Eastern Kentucky University and it’s alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends. We strive to provide you with fond memories each and every time you visit the club.

Categories of Membership and Costs

Arlington Association is the name of the organization formed for the operation of the Arlington Club, including the Association House, Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, and adjacent outside areas.

  1. Membership in the Arlington Association is voluntary and is available to the following:
    1. Full-time Faculty and Staff (exempt & non-exempt) employees of Eastern Kentucky University.
    2. An individual, who holds a degree from Eastern Kentucky University, has completed a graduate level certification program requiring credit hours equivalent to a comparable masters degree program or has completed 25 hours toward their degree program.
    3. An individual who is an alumni of any public or private Kentucky college or university is eligible for Association membership, provided his/her application is approved by the Association Board of Directors. The identification of alumni status shall be in accordance with the applicant's respective school. Individuals meeting the above requirements are identified collectively as at-large members for purposes of these By-laws. A maximum allowable limit of members qualifying under this subsection shall be fixed at 200 members. Once this limit may be reached under this category, no further applications for membership may be approved by the Association Board unless and until a member from this same category ends his/her membership.

      This membership requires an initiation fee of $1,500 which may be paid over a period of three (3) years. The initiation fees collected under this membership program would become part of the "Arlington Capital Improvements Reserve". All members meeting the above qualifications will be required to pay the applicable dues, fees, and charges of the Association as established and prescribed by the Association Board.
    4. An individual who is a resident of Madison County but is not an alumnus of any public or private Kentucky college or university is eligible for Association membership, provided his/her application is approved by the Association Board of Directors. Individuals meeting the above requirements are identified collectively as at-large members for purposes of these By-laws. A maximum allowable limit of members qualifying under this subsection shall be fixed at 200 members. Once this limit may be reached under this category, no further applications for membership may be approved by the Association Board unless and until a member from this same category ends his/her membership.

      This membership requires an initiation fee of $2,500, which may be paid over a period of three (3) years. The initiation fees collected under this membership program would become part of the "Arlington Capital Improvements Reserve". All members meeting the above qualifications will be required to pay the applicable dues, fees and charges of the Association as established and prescribed by the Association Board.
    5. Individuals making a gift of $1,000 or more to the Circle of Opportunity Program may be eligible to apply for membership for one year, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of the Arlington Association consistent with applicable rules and restrictions governing the composition of Association membership pursuant to Article III Membership, 2. Eligibility for Membership, C. Major Donors of the Association By-Laws. Any approved membership may be renewed for one-year periods upon continuance of such gifts of $1,000 or more in subsequent years. An individual making a gift of $10,000 or more to the EKU Foundation would qualify the donor for eligibility to apply for permanent membership in Arlington Association. All members meeting the above qualifications will be required to pay the applicable dues, fees and charges of the Association as established and prescribed by the Association Board.

  2. Membership is of two types:
    1. Resident members are those residing or having a place of business in Madison County or Counties touching Madison County.
    2. Non-Resident members are those residing or having a place of business outside of Madison County or Counties touching Madison County.

  3. The management of the Club is vested in a Board of Directors of 18 members, eight of whom are ex-officio and 10 elected from the resident membership. Elected directors include three Alumni members, four from the Faculty and/or Staff, and three at-large. Officers of the Board are Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer. Various committees of the resident members function to advise the Board of Directors in matters of Club management.

  4. Fees and Dues for Resident Members:
    1. Initiation fees may be paid in a single lump sum of $1,000, $1,500, or $2,500 or billed annually for three (3) years..
    2. Monthly Dues:   $120.00  Food and Beverage Minimum:  $25.00

      Dues may be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually in advance.

  5. Fees and Dues for Non-Resident Members:
    1. Initiation fees may be paid in a single lump sum of $500 or $1,500 or annually for three (3) years.
    2. Monthly Dues:  $80.00  Food and Beverage Minimum:  $25.00 

      Dues may be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually in advance.
